Located next to the motorway connecting the west and east of Belfast, the library serves as a community hub where people can access not only books, but also various media like magazines, vinyl and films. There is a lack of cultural spaces for children and elderly in Belfast, hence this library is designed by considering multiple generation and people with different needs.
The overlapping volumes connected through ramps, enables visitors to have a sequential experience. The voids in between each cube enables natural ventilation and daylight. The courtyards play a vital role, where people can sense the seasonal changes.
