The housing complexes incorporate pastel-toned colourful bricks in three distinct hues to add an aesthetic touch and potentially positively impact child development through visual stimulation.

+ grouping units

The housing units have been designed with a primary focus on the safety of children.

Four households constitute a single unit, with two families arranged as semi-detached houses, allowing for closer monitoring and support.

+ safety first design

The central courtyard of each household has been designed as a small courtyard, enhancing safety by enabling parents to oversee their children's activities from within the kitchen area.

The rooftop spaces in neighbouring units have been optimized to encourage communication and interaction among residents.

Early detection and intervention are crucial for the improved prognosis of mental health conditions like ADHD and autism (ASD). Experts recommend initiating treatment around the age of five and involving more than 20 hours of intensive care and specialized education weekly to achieve better outcomes.

Northern Ireland needs more facilities and infrastructure to provide comprehensive treatment and support for children with these conditions compared to the British mainland. Therefore, a strategic approach has been devised to address this disparity.

The proposed solution involves the establishment of centrally located treatment facilities managed by professional psychiatrists and guidance teachers. These facilities are complemented by public rental housing complexes that are designed to provide easy access to education and support services for affected children and their families.
